5 Nutritious Fruits You should Eat During Pregnancy


According to health researchers, eating healthy during pregnancy ensures long-term health of the mother and the baby.

Hence, we have decided to bring to our readers 5 Nutritious fruits to eat during pregnancy. Although there are several other fruits to eat but we have decided to bring to you the commonest and easy to find among them.



1. Mango
Naturally, Mangoes are sweet. This therefore makes it a delicious alternative for your sugary treat. Mango contains large amount of Vitamin C that reduces constipation, and relieves you of minor infections. It also helps in regulation of digestion. 

2. Watermelon:
Watermelon is a rich source of vital nutrients including vitamin A, C, B6, magnesium, and potassium. It also helps in quenching thirst. In your last trimester, watermelon helps in reducing heartburn, swelling in hands and feet, and muscle cramps, and keeps you hydrated.

3. Banana:
On a normal basis, banana is everyone favorites fruit. It is a highly preferred fruits in the world of nutrition and diet. Bananas contains folate, vitamin C, B6, potassium, and magnesium. Each of those mentioned above help in preventing the baby and mother from diseases and other harm. Hence, Doctor recommends at least one banana per day during the first trimester. 

4. Oranges
Oranges are rich in vitamin C that aids in digestion, prevents cell damage, and helps the blood absorb iron.They also help you remain hydrated. And its Potassium helps prevent high blood pressure during pregnancy.

5. Grapefruit
Eating grapefruits before going to bed helps you relax and get a good night’s sleep. It can also decrease the chances of nausea and vomiting, which is a common issue in early pregnancy.

Other fruits although not mentioned among the 5 above that should be eaten by pregnant women are Apple, Lemons, Blackberries, Avocados, Pear and others.
