Former Olympic Gold Medallist Promoted To ASP

Chioma Ajumnwa, Nigeria's first Gold Medallist has been promoted to the rank of ASP (Assistant Superintendent) in the Police force.

Chioma was the first Nigerian olympiad to win a Gold Medal in the summer Olympics Atlanta in 1996. She specialized in field events,  particularly long jump and clinched the medal after many setbacks.

She is also the only Nigerian Individual Olympic Gold medallist and stands as the first African Black woman to win a Gold medal in field events.
