Zidane pips Mourinho and Conte to award

Zinedine Zidane picked up the Best Coach of the Year award at the Dubai Globe Soccer gala, realmadrid.com reports.

The Frenchman, who beat Conte, Allegri and Mourinho, continues to make history as the Whites’ coach. With him on the bench, Real Madrid have won la Duodécima, the 33rd league title, the European Super Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and the Club World Cup in 2017, making it the most successful year in the club’s history.
"Thanks to the president, who gave me the opportunity to coach this team. Without these players it wouldn’t have been possible to win this trophy. I’ve just started in this, being a coach is a very difficult job and there are a lot of very good coaches around", he said after collecting the award.

It’s not yet been two years since he took over the team (4 January 2016) and the Frenchman has already won eight titles with the Whites. The five this year have been added to a Champions League, a European Super Cup and a Club World Cup.
