Photos:23 Die As Truck Carrying 300 Immigrants Crashes In Libya

At least 23 Illegal African Migrants looking to cross over to Europe have dies after a truck conveying them there crashed injuring over 124.

The truck was reportedly smuggling them to the Libyan town of Bani Walid when it crashed.
The spokesman of the Babi Walid hospital Muhammed al-Mabrouk said the truck flipped over 80km south of Bani Walid.

At least 124 were injured 8 severely injured, and 23 dead.
“124 migrants were wounded, 35 of whom need urgent transfer to Tripoli hospitals, while 7 others need extensive care, yet the rest are in stable conditions.” Libyan News Agency reported the Bani Walid General Director, Mohammed Al-Mabrouk, as saying.

al-Mabrouk also said that the driver of the truck was not received and his where abouts was not known.

He also said the government would help the hospital as there is a chronic shortage of drugs  and inadequate accomodation as the hospital only has carrying capacity for 120 patients.

Bani Walid, located south of Tripoli is known as a hub for smugglers who bring illegal immigrants by road to cross the Mediterranean into Europe.

The immigrants are often transported in brutish conditions and often passed between smugglers who extort travelers exorbitantly.
