Just 8% Of Americans Own Cryptocurrency

A new survey has indicated that just 8% of Americans own cryptocurrency. This shows that the cryptocurrency community has a long way to go in educating folks in America, especially the women and the aged among them.


  • A survey of about 2,001 Americans shows that 7.95% of the population own cryptocurrency and 92.05% did not buy and 7.76% do not have intentions of buying in the near future.
  • On the reason why they did not invest, 35.02% feel the risk is too high, 27.04%  find it too difficult to understand, 17.97% feel it is a scam, 16.12% are waiting for 'the Bubble' to burst, 11.40% say its too difficult to use, 5.75% feel there are too many fees asking.
  • According to the survey, the three most popular cryptocurrrencies are Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Core.
  • The survey also revealed a gender gap, with 4.27% women who say they won Bitcoin compared with the 11.86% men who own it.6.28% women plan to buy cryptocurrency in the future in contrast with the  9.47% men.
  • The survey also showed a generational gap with 17.21% of millennials having skin in the game compared with only 8.75% of Gen X and 2.24% of baby boomers.
