Proof That CBN Withdrew N100BN For Jonathan During The 2015 Elections


The Presidency has said that it has proof that specific instructions were given to CBN to move N100Bn to former President Goodluck Jonathan's lodge; Vanguard has reported.

  • From the report, for National Security Adviser Dasuki Sambo allegedly monitored the physical transfer of the money from the Central Bank's vaults to Jonathan;s residence.
  • It quoted another source saying that the sum was approved by the CBN board and was not tied to any project or procurement.
  • As reported, the sum was meant for campaign purposes purely.
  • The report gave details of the deal as showing that documents including cash vouchers indicate that $289,202,382 was released in cash to the NIA by the Central Bank of Nigeria from the Joint Venture (JV) Cash Call account No: 000-0000-11658-366 of the NNPC/NAPIMS with JP Morgan Chase Bank, New York, USA. 
  • It reported that if the money was not stolen, today it would be worth over $104 Bn today.
  • It would be imperative to note however that on Tuesday the 20th of March, Goodluck accused Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for laying false accusations on him.
